Name:
Melamine Brown (She perfers Mel, though. Or Wash Pot.)
Age:
10
Gender:
Female
Appearance:
Mel is completely avarage (gotta be a first for the world of pokemon, huh?)! She is of medium height (for a ten year old), has brown hair, non-descript eyes, doesn't need glasses, and doesn't need braces. She is average, and has been fighting to stop being that way since she was five. It hasn't really worked.
Personality:
Mel is that quiet girl, who sits in the back of the class, and who the teacher can never remember. She hasn't got any talent, but she can be stubborn and has already memorized her type match ups -- a real accomplishment for a ten year old.
History:
Melamine is just your average Pallet Town resident. Her mother is a breeder, and her father works for Sylph Co. Both are unintentional workaholics, and have left most of the raising of their three daughters to the oldest, 21 year old Ayothora (she's actually from Mel's father's first marriage, which didn't work out so great). Ora, as the eldest is generally known, has been a role modle for her younger sisters, Mel, 10, and Katherine, 9.
However, now that the little girls are old enough to start on their pokemon journies, Ora has been turning more and more attention to her own career as a fashion designer. As a result, Mel has been feeling left out in the cold. Hopefuly that will change once she gets her starter.

(This is from one of my earliest expereinces with pokemon RPGs, over at the Delmara region, if you wanted me to make something up on the spot I'll erase this and do that.)
Luke looked at the knee length grass that awaited him. Further into the route the grass looked as if it got up to shoulder height. There was a small strip of land next to the long pool along the path that was pretty bare, luckily, although there were thickets of trees near the water, their knarled roots dipping into it. He would have to avoid those.
First thing was first, though. He let his totodile out of its pokeball.
"Hello, I'm Luke, and you are?" he asked
<Surprised that you are talking to me,> the voice of the blue gator was cracked, and rough.
"Why?" Luck was a little astonished that he got a reponse besides "toto!" or "dile." He guessed that the Delmaran pokeballs were really worth the money.
<You're a human. I don't expect much out of you, however, I suppose you might be different,> the water pokemon condesended. <I am not going to tell you my real name, but you may call me Coson.>
"Okay," Luke looked at the pokemon strangely. "I'm Luke."
<You already told me.>
"Oh, er, sorry," Luke stammered.
This was so wierd, he had never actted this way around a pokemon before. Admittedly it was because he had sort of assumed that they would never contradict anything he said.
<Look, this seems to me a very business like relationship,> Coson continued, beginning to walk along the river bank on his short legs. <Just tell me when I will get to fight, and let me hunt in peace, and we'll get along splendidly.>
"I didn't get you for fighting," Luke mumbled. "I need to travel a lot, and having a pokemon is safer. Plus, I may need to fight gym leaders to get information -- some of them can have quite the sense of humor about that," he said bitterly, remembering the time he had to borrow a machoke from a stranger in Mahogany to get Pryce to admit that he was worthy of discovering that the crochety old man had never even heard of Brian.
<Well, that sounds like fighting, but not much,> Coson admitted. <Should have expected it. Humans are always the soft types if they are the kind who bother to speak to pokemon.>
"I am not soft!" Luke yelled, before reflexively saying: "Sorry."
Coson raised a browridge.
<So -- why are you traveling.>
"I'm looking for my twin brother. When he was thirteen he claimed an abra as his starter and it teleported him away somewhere," Luke replied. "I've searched all of Johto, and finally got a lead that he might be here."
<Thirteen -- you're now sixteen?> Coson wanted to know.
"Fifteen," Luke replied shortly.
<Still, that's two years just for one brother. You might be acceptable after all. I'll decide by tomorrow. We actually might become a good team, you certainly have determination, if not power,> the totodile mused, sounding much too old for his level.
"Er, thanks," Luke began.
<But you've got to do something about that awful stutter,> Coson decided. <Now I am going hunting, there might be something tastey in those weeds,> and with that the totodile slid into the river.
