The Ekans shook it's head, pained by the attack, and then shot foward in another wrap attack, determined to protect both it's territory (The reason it had attacked), and its dignity (Which was now up at stake). "Ekanssss..." <Leave.> Perhaps he was offering an alternative to you, though it was up to you if you took it or not.

"Char Char" <I'm not going to let you win that for sure.> the little charmander said to the ekans, he attacked again with some scratchs to the head of the ekans.

It didn't seem to phase the Ekans much, as it took the scratch attack with only a hiss of protest, as it lept into a wrap attack once more. "Ekansssss..." Bunching it's coils together, it attempted to, literally, squeeze the life out of Grad.

The charmander jumped out of the way of the ekans's attack, he used a leer to lower the ekans's defence then launched another fury of scratches.
Blake began to worry of Grad could take anymore, it seemed to him that the charmander was already tired from the battle with the ratata.

Perhaps the ekans merely didn't show the pain, as even the next flurry of scratches didn't seem to phase the much battered pokemon. Leering at Grad in return for being leered at, it tried another wrap attack, hissing. Whatever it was saying, it didn't even seem to be comprehensible in poke-talk.

Grad was once again trapped in the coils of the ekans, he tried to shake the ekans of again by using a leer to break the ekans's momentum.

Surprised, the ekans let go of Grad, weaving back and forth in a snakey way. Hissing again at Grad, it didn't disapear into the grass again, instead remaining in front of Grad, eyeing him with something akin to murder.

"You'd better wrap this up, Grad"Blake told the charmander. Grad nodded and used another leer followed by a scratch. Blake took out one of his pokeballs. He decided to catch this ekans, it seemed pretty strong.

The ekans tried to avoid looking at the leering face on Grad, but couldn't. Suddenly very angry at the expression, it attempted to attack-But ended up getting a full-force, critical-hit scratch attack across his face. Hissing in defiance, even as it sunk down into a faint, it tried a wrap attack and failed miserably.

Blake grinned at the ekans and threw the pokeball at it. He called Grad back and gently patted him on the head.

Once...
Twice...
Three times it wriggled, then paused, sitting still. No ding announced capture, as it soon wriggled again. And again. Even fainted the ekans was protesting it's capture, and it was almost easy to imagine hearing defiant hissing coming from within the pokeball.
A cheery ding set off in the silence, as the pokeball rocked to it's side, the capture button flashing brightly and then dimming, in a successful capture.
You have captured an Ekans.
Name: --- Gemder: --- Level: 7 Moves: Wrap, Leer Tidbit: It seems to hate the world in general, and doesn't even speak coherently in poketalk.
You have defeated a level 7 Ekans. Grad gains one level.

"Alright, we got a tough pokemon on our side"Blake said as he picked up the ekans's pokeball. He inserted it into his pocket and headed torwards the next town to heal Grad, he had been injured a lot by the ekans. Hopefully there wouldn't be as much pokemon now but this is a grassy area and pokemon are likely to appear in it.

It seemed Blake had quite a bit of knowledge on his side, as a spearow rested nearby, eyeing them with evil intent. Or maybe just mischevious, if you were one who preferred to think pokemon could have no evil intent. In any case, he swooped down from it's branch and attempted to gain a roost in Blake's hair.

As the spearow swooped down from the tree, Grad who had spotted the spearow earlier, fired an ember in attempt to scare it away, nearly singeing Blake's hair as he did.

Calling out in surprise, the spearow dodged the attack, and then came back in for another attempt at gaining a foothold on Blake's head. He didn't appear to be in the mood to attack, rather simply one to cause trouble. How he was causing trouble trying to land on Blake's head was mystery, but he might suceed, if Grad somehow managed to set fire to Blake's head. Which would actually be pretty funny, now that the spearow thought of it.
