"Oh," Mel said, looking abashed.
She backed up with Lapis covering her. She didn't think that running for it was a very brave and trainer like thing to do, but running for it looked like the best option as she realized the truth of Micheal's words. Also, she was only ten years old and while speedy in the manner of a little kid, she was not going to be able to outrun a quick flying fearow for very long.
"Okay, sir, new plan, we run for Virdian and hope that we're quick enough. Lapis, return," she commanded, sucking her pokemon into his pokeball with an angry cry of: "Squirtle!"
With that she broke out into a run.

"Char charmander" <Maybe we should run too> Grad said tugging at Blake's sleeve, he was motioning to Blake for them to run with his fingers or claws rather. Blake looked at Grad then back at the flock of spearows. "I was hoping she wouldn't run" He said sadly "we could have defeated the fearow together, oh well." He too ran for it following close behind Mel and Micheal. The flock was getting into view fast it would just take a few more minutes before the entire flock would catch, what would they do then?

"I was -- thinking," Mel panted to Blake, her feet pounding against the ground. "If the flock -- catches up with us -- we should use our pokeballs -- to release our poke--mon on the back of the fearow -- It certainly would make sure -- that only the fearow fought Lapis -- and your charmander."

Micheal wasn't a kid. Micheal wasn't even a fit adult. Micheal was overweight, out of shape, and getting old. Micheal was falling behind, puffing out his breath in big gusts of air with every other step, and wheezing in more between the puffs. He didn't /say/ anything, but that could be attributed to the fact he was to busy breathing to speak. It was highly surprising when he suddenly spoke therefore. "Ack! Off! Move it!" Managing out those few words between his great breaths of air, it was apparantly that some of the spearows had descended onto his head, and he was waving his hands around as he ran.
Lucky for him the Fearow had decided to go after Blake and Mel, although that wasn't exactly a lucky thing.

"Why not"Blake said grinning at Mel. He stopped running and confronted the Fearow. he took out one of his pokeball from his pocket and released his ekans. "Ekans use your leer attack" Blake commanded the ekans. The ekans did so. As the ekans was giving the Fearow a leer, "Grad use your ember on the Fearow"Blake told Grad. Grad shot out a small burst of flame from his mouth onto the Fearow's head.

Mel turned to see the fearow diving at her, beak first. She tossed Lapis' pokeball into the air, and crossed her fingers. The pokeball went straight up for about ten feet, before falling straight back down in a determined attempt to brain Mel. However, the burst of white energy that signaled Lapis' release did apear just over the fearow, and in a few seconds 20 pounds of pure turtle landed on the Fearow's back.
Mel punched the air, and rubbed her head at the same time. "Alright, Lapis! Use tail whip!"
Lapis stood up unsteadily on the flying pokemon, trying to balance on moving object is hard when it's moving through the air. He turned around on all fours, and then began to hit the fearow in the head with his curled tail.

Grad continued to shoot tiny flames at the fearow which was steadily slowing down from its flight pattern. Grad was now furious of with his lack of fire power with himself.
Ekans who had just finished using the leer, hissed violently at the fearow trying to intimidate the pokemon as he had done earlier with Grad.
Blake was a bit nervous. Now that they were really fighting the fearow his plan did seem a bit reckless but he wasn't going to back out on it. He looked sideways to Mel before shouting "Grad give a bit more power there."

((Er, not certain if Blake's post controlling the Fearow counts as a turn for the fearow to make a move. Just tell me and I'll change my post if it's not.))
Mel was wondering how she could get Lapis to tackle the fearow from his back in mid air. Perhaps this wasn't such a brilliant plan. Her gaze drifted in a more eathly direction and she saw the nice man in the apron being beset by spearow.
"Lapis, do what you can!" the girl yelled to her pokemon, before running towards Michael on skinny legs, waving her arms and yelling: "Shoo! Shoo! Bad birds!" the way her older sister did when pidgey tried to eat the apples in the tree near her house.
Lapis was, of course, not impressed by the directions that he was receiving. "Tle Squirt squir (Oh brother)."
He decided that his best bet was trying to jump up and down on the fearow.

(( I still think that Lee would control the fearow but I probably would do something for it ))
The fearow was vigilantly beating its wings to produce a small gust of wind to knock-down most of the pokemon as well as the trainers that were still there. Giving as evil glint at Mel.
The fearow quickly dived for her, simply not noticing that the squirtle was on his back either because the squirtle was light or the fearow was just ignoring the slight tickle that it could feel

((If I'm unable to get on for a while-Such as now, when my times on will be erratic, Blake can. I do prefer, however, that if I'm getting on often I keep control of the boards I took on, and Blake can keep control of the boards he took on to mod at the beginning, and I'll only mod on them if it's been a few days since he's gotten on. That way plans don't get disrupted. ^^ As my computer is being erratic right now, he can control the spearow, but for what I jump in and say. XD))
Now, one thing to be noticed-With all three of the pokemon teamed up against the fearow, the bird pokemon didn't seem to be particularily worried, giving a cursory gaze to the leer, his defenses being more lowered by the banging of a rather thick tail on his head. For a while, he handled the squirtle making his flight hard, for while he could carry the pokemon easily-After the first shock of having it suddenly descend onto him-it was a blemish in the stream-line shape and it made it harder to move at the speed he wanted to. So it took a course of action about it. While diving towards Mel, the spearow 'drilled' his entire body in the manner of a drill peck. In essence, he was spiraling, and therefore Lapis had a great chance of falling off on one of the upside down points.
If the spearow didn't hit Mel first.
Micheal was freed from only one spearow at Mel's attempts to help him, waving his hands frantically though it could be attributed to either spearow, or fearow. "Behind...You!" He fell to the ground, which displaced many of them, and also put him out of line of attack of the fearow.

Seeing as the spearow had started of to Mel. Grad decided to intercept. Grad jumped into the air but not high enough to reach the spearow. Instead he did ember on the spearow hoping to scre it of enough.
They were very much outnumbered. There were only 3 pokemon on their side and a whole flock on the other. Blake was beggining to doubt that they could pull this of if these odds were continued thet would surely be destroyed in the battle.
Blake turned to Mel. "Don't you have any other pokemon" He asked.
Ekans having failed to scare away the fearow, was forced to used a wrap on one of the spearow's nearby.

As Lapis felt the wings shift under his feet, he threw himself forward, and attemped to warp his stubby forelegs around the fearow's crooked neck. It worked, just. Sundenly his world became a blur of motion. The swirling tunnel that he had landed in was moving exonerably forward, the rush of air making his lower legs flap a little in the wind. And then he saw Mel in one of the upwards swings doing a silly little dance with her arms waving.
There was a pain in Mel's shoulder, and then she hit the ground, dirt exploding into the air. Rolling over to look upwards, her eyes widend in shock as the fearow beat his wings over her head. She could hear Lapis' frantic cries and feel the rush of air coming out from under the fearow's wings.
Blake's question came at her as if in a dream. There was a fearow right in front of her face! So close and low to the ground that she could see each feather, it seemed. Wow.
But right. Other pokemon. She reached down and felt for the clip on her belt, still feeling dazed. Her trembling fingers pressed the button, and white light flashed as Agok appeared.
The disheveled pokemon looked up at the fearow flying over his head. "Pid gey. (Oh, you have got to be kidding me,)" the nearly fainted pokemon said flatly.
"Agok, gus -- no, that might hurt Lapis. Um, tackle -- if you can," Mel said from the ground, not daring to pick herself up yet. Oh gosh! Of course! "Blake get down on the ground! The fearow can't hit you there!"
Of course, Agok was laboring into the air, shedding the occassional feather, trying to get to the fearow before the mob of spearow hit him.

Of course, even when Agok had managed to hit him, it did very little damage. It did get the fearow further into the air, but it didn't chase him away, and at a loud call from him, the rest of his flock abandoned tormenting ground-born pokemon and people, and focused their attacks on two targets.
Agok and Lapis.
Agok could probably get to the ground in relativly safe manner, but there was the small problem of Lapis not having wings, and being airborn only because he had hitched a ride on a grumpy fearow. There was always the idea of the fearow simply leaving, and taking the squirtle with it. There was, after all, a range to pokeballs, and the fearow was fast. It was very possible that Lapis could be poke-napped by a pokemon. Though that didn't bode well for the squirtle.
Micheal's eyes were wide. "I think, next time, I'll take my chances with the rattata."

Now that the spearow were targeting Mel's pokemon. Blake could at least think up a new plan for them. He couldn't take back the damage he had already done to the group but he could help out to at least try to win the battle, even though it seemed nearly impossible. No ideas came to him as a couple of seconds passed by as he stared at the large flock and Fearow. All he could do now was to wait and see what the fearow would do to Lapis..............
No, he couldn't do that it was against his nature to just leave a pokemon behind, maybe a human yes but there was a pokemon at stake. He took a deep-breath. It slightly eased him. "Use an Ember" He cried to Grad pointing at the flock above.
Grad opened his jaw and released the thin jet of flame that he normally would have produced but something else was going on. The flame seemed to getting slightly wider than normal. The flames engulfed the spearow into tiny flying firballs at least at the moment. They would of course immediately put the fire out but hopeflluy they wouldn't have figured that out until they bumped into each other and all f them had flaming feathers.

"Lapis ju--," Mel broke off as she saw Agok head for the ground like a burning cannon ball, his tailfeathers blazing from part of Grad's ember.
She tossed his pokeball back at him, and the fainted bird was sucked back inside.
Lapis, in the mean time, was beginning to wish that his mother had never laid his egg. Each wing beat was moving him higher, and higher, and higher. If squirtle were meant to fly they would have been given wings! He distantly heard the beginnings of a command to jump, but survival, and distrust of his trainer's ability to catch him made him hang one like grim death as gouts of flame errupted in the sky arround him.
On the ground Mel rose from the earth, and began to run under the fearow, fumbling on her belt for another pokeball. It was foolish to believe that a pokeball would hold a full grown fearow. But the again, it didn't have to did it? Just for long enough to get Lapis back on the ground.
She was running in the shadow now, toossing the pokeball up -- It came down on her head barely having made it that far, and bounced in the long grass. Mel grabbed wildly at one of her remaining two pokeballs, and threw it up, hoping to actually hit the flying menace, and then catch her free-falling squirtle.
